Summary
This position located in Salem Maritime National Historic Site, in the Visitor Experience & Community Engagement Division.
Major Duties
SUPERVISION: Recruits, interviews, selects, and hires subordinates; provides or arranges for training; and monitors and evaluates job performance and development. Supports Equal Opportunity Program in day-to-day supervision and activities. IINTERPRETIVE MANAGEMENT: Provides leadership, technical expertise and coordination of the development, delivery, and evaluation of complex interpretive programs and media in accordance with best practices in interpretation and NPS guidelines and policy. PARTNERSHIP: Coordinates with local Partners for all SAMA/SAIR Interpretive operations and programs. Assists in the negotiation, preparation, and tracking of cooperative management agreements between the National Park Service and local organizations to assure agreement approvals and effective coordination of planning and communications with all SAMA/SAIR divisions and partners. PLANNING AND EVALUATION: As a member of the VECE supervisory team, the incumbent is responsible for participating in the development, implementation and evaluation of a variety of complex short and long-range programs and setting goals and priorities. INTERPRETATION AND EDUCATION: Collaborate to create strategic long-range goals and objectives for curriculum-based education programs. Facilitate and implement informal education programming. Initiate ideas, conducts research, develops program outlines and materials, trains staff, oversees marketing, and evaluates program quality. Coordinate and evaluate program co-sponsorships with other parks, museums, local and state agencies, universities, and organizations.
