About the Team
Invenergy’s Renewable Development team is responsible for generating new wind and solar opportunities for the company by identifying potential projects and advancing them through the development process. This includes site identification, permitting, resource measurement, establishing interconnection positions and community engagement.
Position Overview
As an Associate, Renewable Development (Permitting) you will be responsible for leading development, permitting, and regulatory compliance tasks for large energy infrastructure projects (wind, solar, storage, natural gas, and transmission) located in the MISO North and South territories.

Responsibilities
- Compile, review, and organize permit requirements in accordance with local, state, and federal laws.
- Evaluate project risks and advance strategy to obtain primary development permits.
- Draft, review, and organize high-quality and resilient permit applications and supporting documentation including agency data request responses, testimony, briefs, and regulatory compliance filings.
- Coordinate internal and external technical support from development, legal, engineering, environmental, and construction teams.
- Manage schedules and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Interface with government agencies to establish positive relationships and effectively communicate project objectives, benefits, and details.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- 3-5 years of work experience in energy industry or relevant experience.
- Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred Qualifications
- Juris Doctor, Master of Science, or similar graduate-level degree.
- Experience with permitting, project management, and technical/legal writing.
- Ability to quickly develop multidisciplinary expertise and act decisively in a fast-paced business environment with competing deadlines.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Must be self-directed and detail-oriented, with the ability and desire to effectively lead.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and ESRI geographic information systems.
$85,000.00 - $103,000.00 USD Annual
Bonus: 20% - 30%
The base pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for the position. Invenergy considers a number of factors when determining base pay offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education and skills.
