About the Position:
RWDI is seeking an energetic and motivated individual to join and contribute to our Environmental Noise & Vibration team in Ontario as a Junior Scientist/Engineer. This role supports clients across the buildings, infrastructure, and industrial sectors.
The ideal candidate will have 0 to 3 years of relevant experience, with a willingness to develop skills related to environmental permitting and the land use planning in Ontario.
Key Responsibilities
The role includes but is not limited to:

Helping to resolve challenging noise and vibration problems for a wide variety of clients including industrial, institutional, and land developers

Predicting impacts of stationary noise sources, as well as road, rail, and aircraft noise

Coordinating with internal and external project teams to complete all technical aspects of projects, from project startup through to final reporting, under the guidance of senior technical and project management staff

Conducting field measurement programs ranging from same day site visits to support of multi-year monitoring programs in a variety of challenging settings

Configuring and field verifying operation of digital data collection equipment and communication networks

Data collection, modelling, post-processing, analysis, interpretation, and documentation of results

Communicating complex technical materials in straight-forward language

Writing technical project reports that present the methodology, results and recommendations
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
We are accepting applications from candidates with the following qualifications:

Undergraduate degree in a relevant engineering discipline, with eligibility for P.Eng registration with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) is preferred.

Candidates without P.Eng eligibility but with significant, relevant experience will also be considered.

Zero to three years of experience in Environmental Noise and Vibration.

Availability to work in person at our office in Guelph, ON

Valid driver’s license required.
The following attributes are seen as assets for this position:

Experience with noise prediction software such as Cadna/A, STAMSON, TNM, Stamina

Interest in entry level programming in Python, VBA, C#, and/or CRBasic

Strong mechanical aptitude including experience using a variety of hand tools to assemble, create, and maintain

Practiced knowledge of computer networking, digital data collection, and basic circuit design
