Job Description Summary
The Government Contracts and Compliance People Leader will be responsible for leading, developing, and motivating the government contracts and government business COE team. This role requires a deep understanding of government contracting regulations, compliance requirements, and people management principles. The ideal candidate will foster a culture of excellence, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive team performance to achieve organizational goals.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing government contracts team.
- Conduct performance evaluations, set goals, and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure the team’s adherence to all federal, state, and local government contracting regulations and compliance requirements.
- Stay current with changes in government contracting laws and regulations and implement necessary changes within the team.
Strategic Planning:
- Develop and execute strategic plans to enhance the team’s efficiency and effectiveness.
- Identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions to streamline operations.
Policy Development:
- Create and maintain policies and procedures that ensure compliance with government contracts.
- Develop training programs to educate team members on compliance requirements and best practices.
Stakeholder Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for government agencies, clients, and internal stakeholders on contracts and compliance matters.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure successful contract execution and compliance.
Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks associated with government contracts and develop mitigation strategies.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare and present regular reports on team performance, compliance status, and strategic initiatives to senior management.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all contracts and compliance-related activities.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, Public Administration, or a related field and a minimum of 9 years of experience in government contracts and compliance or
- Master's Degree in Business, Law, Public Administration, or a related field and a minimum of 7 years of related professional work experience.
- Proven experience managing a team in a fast-paced, regulatory environment.
Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of federal acquisition regulations (FAR) and other relevant government contracting laws (DEAR, CFR, DFARS)
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

- U.S. Federal Regulatory Experience is highly preferred.

The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
