Job Requirements
A Doctorate (NQF Level 10) in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, with at least six (6) years of lecturing experience at a recognised tertiary education institution and/or relevant industry experience, or an equivalent combination of professional experience. Excellent English communication skills, both oral and written. Competence in sourcing external research or project funding, initiating and managing research projects to successful completion, contributing to curriculum development, and exhibiting strong management, organisational and mentorship skills. Ability to teach at least three (3) of the following courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels: Mechanics of Materials, Design of Machine Elements, Engineering Mechanics (Dynamics), Machine Design, Mechanical Vibration and Noise, Experimental Methods and Mechanical Design Project. Ability to build and maintain professional networks, foster strong academic and industry linkages, and make meaningful contributions to programme development, particularly at the postgraduate level. A credible record of teaching, research supervision at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and publications in accredited peer‑reviewed journals, as well as a sound research profile including a Google Scholar h‑index of four (4) or higher, and evidence of successful supervision of Master’s (research‑based) students will be an advantage.

All qualifications must be certified by the Police within the last three (3) months, A Police Clearance Certificate (Certificate of Conduct) not older than six (6) months must accompany all applications. All foreign qualifications must be validated by the Namibia Qualifications Authority (NQA). The normal retirement age is 65. Non-Namibian candidates who are deemed suitable for appointment will be offered a contract of five (5) years.
