This position is in the Region 1, Mission Support Division. About: Region 1. This is an office-centered position--you must physically report to the duty station stated in this announcement on a regular basis.
Major Duties
You will: In coordination with the Director, plans, coordinates, and manages Mission Support Division administrative functions (e.g., HR, budget, acquisition, IT, facilities) to ensure efficient use of resources and compliant operations in alignment with established EPA policies and guidance. Reviews and evaluates the Mission Support Division's organizational effectiveness and operational impact across administrative, financial, acquisition, IT, and facilities functions; develops data-driven recommendations to streamline processes, strengthen internal controls, optimize resource use, and improve service delivery in alignment with EPA policies and mission objectives. Assists in directing day-to-day Mission Support Division operations— individually and through Office/Branch Chiefs—by overseeing correspondence control, budget formulation and execution, and meeting coordination across HR, acquisition, finance, IT, and facilities functions. Supervises assigned staff by providing guidance and counseling on established policies and procedures; monitors day-to-day compliance and performance; and addresses routine employee relations issues. You will spend less than 25% of your work time on contracts, grants/cooperative agreements, and/or interagency agreements.
