Job Description
Under direct supervision, the Associate Specialist, EH&S is responsible for Employee Health & Safety programs/initiatives and worker’s compensation compliance within the warehouse.
While reporting directly to the Manager, EH&S, this position will also have a dotted‑line reporting relationship to the Terrebonne Site Lead.
Responsibilities:
- Responsibilities are managed at a national level in order to provide consistent and comprehensive support across all locations.
- Maintain compliant safety programs.
- Assist in implementation of safety initiatives.
- Support facilities in conducting incident investigations.
- Ensure the coordination and delivery of all required Health & Safety training in the warehouse, in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Participate in Safety Committee meetings.
- Partner with HR and Workers Compensation representatives for claim follow-up.
- Gather information for EHS Managers for compliance reporting.
- Maintain regulatory documents (environmental, safety).
- Prepare reports and communications related to EHS.
- In collaboration with Human Resources, participates in the national orientation program for new hires, ensuring a consistent onboarding experience across all locations.
- Monitors and ensures the completion and ongoing maintenance of the training matrix, as well as the EHS portal, including the accurate upload and tracking of all required documentation at a national level.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in safety, environmental health, business, or related field OR High School diploma and at least 2 years of safety experience.
- Experience applying applicable provincial health and safety legislation, nationally.
- Position requires exposure to the environmental/atmospheric conditions: Indoor conditions, cold/hot temperature changes, wet, noise, vibration, fumes, odors, dust and mechanical / electrical / chemical hazards.
- Position requires travel up to 20% of the time to sites across Canada.
- CNESST - certified first aider, an asset
- Bilingual in French & English required due to national scope of the role.
The anticipated salary range for this position:
$62,200.00 - $93,200.00 Annual
