DescriptionPosition Summary
Champion the execution of a high-impact utility-scale solar and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) portfolio, orchestrating the seamless transition from Final Investment Decision (FID) and Notice to Proceed (NTP) through to successful Commercial Operation (COD). This leadership role demands operational excellence and sophisticated fiscal stewardship to deliver complex energy assets that meet rigorous technical, contractual, and regulatory benchmarks.
Reporting Structure
This position reports directly to the SVP Project Delivery.
Core Responsibilities
- Project Lifecycle Leadership: Strategize and lead the end-to-end execution of utility-scale solar PV and BESS projects, maintaining total accountability from NTP through final commissioning and COD.
- Technical & Infrastructure Oversight: Provide expert technical oversight for engineering alignment and design optimization, with a specific focus on solar modules, BESS systems, inverters, and critical high-voltage (HV) substation and transmission infrastructure.
- Grid & Regulatory Navigation: Navigate complex grid coordination, including interconnection compliance, utility/ISO relations (ERCOT, PJM, CAISO, etc.), and the successful management of energization and grid synchronization activities.
- Contractual & Vendor Direction: Direct the negotiation and lifecycle management of EPC, BOP, and major supply agreements, ensuring rigorous contractor performance, quality assurance, and proactive change management.
- Financial & Schedule Orchestration: Drive detailed project schedules and robust cost controls, including CAPEX tracking and contingency management, to ensure all assets achieve targeted financial and delivery milestones.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Lead high-level collaboration between development, engineering, finance, legal, and asset management teams to ensure seamless project integration and internal stakeholder alignment.
Requirements- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field (Advanced degree preferred).
- 3–5 years of expert-level experience in infrastructure or energy project delivery, specifically focused on large-scale renewable energy assets.
- Advanced technical knowledge of utility-scale solar PV design, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and high-voltage substation/transmission infrastructure.
- Proven mastery of EPC contracting structures, vendor management, and sophisticated construction project controls.
- Deep familiarity with interconnection processes and navigating major ISO/RTO markets such as ERCOT, PJM, and CAISO.

- Execution Excellence: Successful delivery of projects within approved financial targets and adherence to contractual COD milestones.
- Safety Leadership: Maintenance of premier safety standards and a culture of zero harm, measured through TRIR and LTIR performance.
- Asset Integrity & Handover: Successful transition of operational assets with minimal punch list items and comprehensive technical documentation for the operations team.
