CNP SA is looking for experienced Nuclear Safety Analyst/Licensed CANDU Nuclear Operators/ BOP to bridge the gap between active plant operations and the refurbishment project team. In this role, you will apply your control room expertise to support outage planning, permit strategies, and safety coordination during this critical overhaul.
You will act as a leader and mentor, ensuring that safety remains the top priority while driving complex refurbishment schedules.
Key Responsibilities (What You Will Do)
- Operational Leadership: Define high standards for the team and provide leadership for both day-to-day operations and long-term project activities.
- Safety & Risk Management: Always prioritize safety when managing scope, cost, and schedule. Promptly communicate any safety or production risks to supervision.
- Problem Solving: Solve operational problems decisively and within authority limits. Engage the team to analyze data and implement the best technical solutions.
- Mentorship: Develop staff capabilities, mentor junior team members, and coach employees/contractors if behaviours fall below standards.
- Delegation: Effectively delegate tasks based on individual competencies, ensuring team members take ownership of their specific objectives.
- Interface with the station Operations, Reactor Physics, Nuclear Safety, Licensing and document control Teams.
- Develop and implement procedures/processes to support the refurbishment project.

Qualifications and Experience:
- Licensing: currently licensed (or previously licensed) as a Control Room Operator (CRO)/Authorized Nuclear Operator (ANO), Control Room Shift Supervisor (CRSS) or Shift Supervisor (SS)/Shift Manager (SM).
- Direct involvement in a CANDU reactor commissioning post refurbishment will be an advantage
- 10 years relevant experience nuclear operations, preferably with Pressurized Water Reactors (PWR) and 5 years of experience working on a CANDU Nuclear Power Plant on the BOP side.
- Strong understanding of nuclear safety protocols, radiation protection, and emergency response procedures.
- Outage Expertise: demonstrated experience in planned outage preparation and execution at CNE (specifically in operations roles such as Major Work Co-ordinator, Permit preparation, or Work Plan execution).
- Refurbishment Experience: Prior experience in CANDU Refurbishment or Major Component Replacement (MCR) projects (e.g., Retube/Feeder Replacement, Steam Generator Replacement) is highly desirable.
