Hours: 24 - 30 hours/week (occasionally flexing to 40 hours)
Pay Rate: $15.00/hour
This is a seasonal position with a maximum duration of six months, based on individual performance and business operations. The exact end date will be determined by the official start date.
Summary:
Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium is seeking a Warehouse Team Member to provide proper execution of the inventory control guidelines of the Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium’s retail operation. This position reports directly to the Warehouse Supervisor.
Duties and Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
- Unloads deliveries, inspects shipments for damage, sort shipments and tags individual products.
- Assists with accurate fulfillment, documentation and staging of Wildlife Safari Park merchandise.
- Assists with fixture set up for outside shops and night events.
- Ensures product areas are organized for ease of product fulfillment.
- Assists with damages and transfers are properly executed.
- Ability to assist in routine maintenance of warehouse equipment and shipping area.
- Follows all the Zoo’s safety procedures.
- Maintains a high level of customer service by ensuring that service standards are met.
- Handle routine and non-routine functions without close supervision but within Omaha Zoo policies.
- Ensure that the warehouse area is clean and fixtures are safely organized.
- Ability to work weekends and holidays as required.
Qualifications:
- Two years related experience or equivalent preferred.
- Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
- Creative, versatile, flexible team player and willingness to work within constantly changing environment with enthusiasm.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels.
- Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
Physical Requirements:
- Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a repetitive basis and occasionally team lifting up to 100 pounds.
- Ability to operate a dolly, lift and place dock plate. Ability to learn the operation of the pallet jack.
Work Environment:
- Outside work is possible and can occur during all seasons.
