Summary
A selectee receiving a first appointment to the Federal Government (Civil Service) is entitled only to the lowest step of the grade for which selected. The display of a salary range on this vacancy shall not be construed as granting an entitlement to a higher rate of pay. The typical seasonal period for these positions is May through October but can be variable during these months due to weather conditions, project needs, or funding. Anticipated Entry on Duty: May 2026.
Major Duties
Responsible for stopping traffic on busy roadways and safely directing trolleys across intersections. Responding to emergencies as they arise when needed. Responsible for reading and interpreting railroad switch positions and throwing/securing switches properly. Responsible for maintaining accurate records of the number of visitors using the trolley on a daily basis. Responsible for maintaining trolley schedule of pick-up and drop-off times of visitors taking park tours. Ensure safe loading/unloading of passengers and communicating with staff and trolley passengers to facilitate safe operations.
