Winnebago Industries is seeking a highly motivated and analytically minded intern to support sustainability initiatives. The Sustainability Intern will play a key role in supporting Winnebago Industries’ environmental performance goals by collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data.
This role offers hands-on experience in corporate sustainability work, providing visibility into how a major manufacturer tracks environmental performance, drives improvement, and supports long‑term ESG strategy. This position will work closely with key stakeholders across the enterprise to collect data relating to Winnebago Industries’ energy, waste, and water corporate sustainability goals.
The Sustainability Intern must operate as a collaborative, customer-focused partner capable of navigating complex and challenging landscapes. This role will report directly to the Senior Manager of Corporate Responsibility.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
- Collect, organize, and analyze environmental sustainability data (energy, waste, and water) from multiple business units.
- Assist in developing sustainability dashboards, data visualizations, and internal performance reports.
- Conduct research on sustainability benchmarks, peer performance, and environmental best practices.
- Identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement across energy, waste, and water datasets.
- Ensure data accuracy through verification, documentation, and quality checks.
- Contribute to the development of sustainability training and educational materials
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Currently pursuing a degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret quantitative and qualitative data.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; comfortable using PowerPoint and other reporting tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Commitment to collaborate cross-functionally across business units
- Attention to detail ensuring data integrity and consistency
- Ability to manage time effectively and work independently
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to work at a computer for extended periods.
- Occasional visits to office industrial environments for data collection.
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. when transporting documents or project materials.
OTHER DETAILS
This hybrid internship combines remote flexibility with onsite collaboration at Winnebago Industries’ Eden Prairie corporate office and is structured as a full-time, 40-hour-per-week summer role. The intern will regularly partner with business units in Indiana, Florida, and Iowa, gaining exposure to real operational data and diverse sustainability challenges across the enterprise. Close collaboration with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and Corporate Responsibility & Inclusion (CR&I) will provide valuable experience in cross-functional teamwork and environmental data management. Through recurring virtual touchpoints, project check-ins, and collaborative workflows, the intern will be fully integrated into enterprise-wide sustainability initiatives and supported by a network of passionate professionals across the company.
This posting includes a range of the salary across a geographical market. The base pay for this position ranges from $20/hour in our lowest geographic market up to $25/hour in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
