Job Description:
Provide EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) and, where applicable, PSM (Process Safety Management) oversight, guidance, competency, and leadership, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and DuPont Corporate Standards, within site area. Lead, monitor, audit, and provide consulting for maintaining a proactive Plant specific program to achieve Site EH&S goals and objectives. Accountable to Site Leader and Business EHS Leader
This role is located in Salisbury, NC (approximately 30 miles north of Charlotte) where we produce ArmorWall™ panels for the construction industry.
Primary Responsibilities:
Conduct work activities and demonstrate leadership behavior consistent with DuPont Core Values
- Strengthen EHS performance and safety culture
- Coordinate and develop site EHS programs, including integration of Corporate standards and reporting (internal and external) processes
- Support injury and illness recordkeeping with case management process; maintain relevant logs and documentation
- Facilitating review and development of Site Safety & OH procedures and practices
- Lead incident investigations and Root Cause Analysis
- Coordinate 1st and 2nd party S & OH audits
- Routine field auditing and visibility for interactions with employees
- Administer and maintain compliance programs such as LOTO, Hazard Communication, Hearing Conservation, Hot Work, Respiratory Protection, etc.
- Evaluate EHS implications of site process changes, and participates in site project teams as appropriate
- Interact with Business EHS Lead to ensure consistency across the Site
- Maintain positive and proactive relations with managers and employees, as well as our customers and regulatory agencies
- Deliver a collaborative and team-based approach to troubleshooting, problem solving, and driving to root cause solutions
- Facilitate classroom and individual training and development
- Oversee the site industrial hygiene programs including occupational monitoring.
- Serve as TSCA 8c coordinator for the site.
- Develop internal audit plans (1st Party EHS Audits), review performance, and feedback gaps to management to drive continual EHS improvement.
- Manage the site level interface with 2nd party corporate audit and represent sites during execution across various competencies Process Safety Management (PSM), Safety and Industrial Hygiene, Fire, Distribution and Environmental assessments. Manage and in some cases develop corrective action plans and oversee resolution of audit findings.
- Support injury and illness recordkeeping and case management process; maintain relevant logs and documentation.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- BS Engineering discipline with focus on Safety or Health, related field, or other relevant equivalent work experience.
- Five (5) to ten (10) years of industry experience with increasing responsibilities in safety management or line leadership with safety emphasis and expectations.
- Knowledge of appropriate state and federal standards, protocols, and systems.
- Experience working in, leading, or developing high performing teams or progressive work structures
- Strong leadership, people management and development skills
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate classroom training and presentations
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines as well as manage change and work independently.
- Networking, influence, and conflict resolution skills with strong focus on deliverables with excellent oral and written skills along with the ability to apply these in the regulatory, advocacy and public affairs culture
- Demonstrated ability to utilize computer software (systems used are Microsoft Office, intra/internet, etc.) including helping to implement the Cority industrial hygiene software system and/or ETQ Reliance at a site.
Desired Qualifications
- Six Sigma Green Belt and Lean Certification
- Facilitation Training Certification (Train the Trainer)
- Root Cause and Failure Analysis (RCFA) Certification
- BS in a basic science or technical degree in the field of EHS management, or relevant work experience in EH&S is required
- Ability to communicate effectively in Spanish and English
