What You Will Do
Interns support the successful execution of projects, lead generations (sales activities), and daily process work for SCB’s Carbon Advisory Desk. This combination of project and process work allows interns to research a section of the industry to conclusion and engage in the day to day running of the business.
Projects vary and can include generating leads, preparing presentations, analysing data, and conducting market research. Responsibilities may include:
Sales & Lead Generation
- Prospecting potential advisory clients and supporting the creation of a pipeline of new business opportunities
- Prospecting and outreach to corporate clients, qualifying leads and building a sales pipeline
- Cold calling, market mapping and lead generation as well as identifying and engaging potential corporate clients
- Learning to structure and pitch carbon solutions, helping companies achieve sustainability goals
- Assisting in the preparation of sales materials, presentations, and proposals for prospective clients
Market Research & Analysis
- Researching global reporting frameworks, sector specific environmental guidance, and sustainability initiatives
- Analysing and processing sustainability and emissions data
Advisory & Client Support
- Contributing to client deliverables on sustainability and decarbonisation projects
- Supporting GHG accounting, report preparation for clients, and graphical representation of data
Operational & Strategic Support
- Assisting with the preparation of presentations and marketing material
- Supporting internal audits and processes including BCorp, ISO, and carbon accounting requirements
Who We Look For
We are looking for graduate students interested in building a career in environmental markets, corporate sustainability, advisory, and commercial roles such as sales and business development.
Candidates must have:
- A degree in Environmental Studies, Sustainability, Management, Economics, Accounting, Business or equivalent work experience
- Strong technology skills – MS Office (including Excel)
- Design skills for presentations using tools such as PowerPoint and Canva
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and competencies:
- A self-starter with the ability to work on own initiative
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
- Organised with an ability to prioritise time-sensitive assignments
- Relevant knowledge of GHG accounting, corporate social responsibility, sustainability and climate change
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Fluency in English and French is required, with German considered a strong advantage.
- Entrepreneurial mindset and great team player
- Prior sales experience (cold calling, business development, or financial sales) will be an advantage but not required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
