The Deputy Director, Brand Activation is a strategic and creative leader who drives integrated brand activations across Marketing and Communications (MAC), increasing brand awareness and audience engagement. Reporting to the Director of Brand Activation and Creative within the Brand Marketing team, this transformative role brings campaign goals to life through collaboration with cross-functional teams—globally—to amplify our brand and expand its reach. With a focus on systems thinking, relationship-building, and measurable impact, this leader shapes how we activate brand campaigns, challenging assumptions and sparking new approaches to our work.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Deputy Director, Brand Activation leads both strategic planning and collaborative implementation of integrated brand activations that advance MAC’s priorities. They will work closely with internal and external partners to develop creative, measurable, and inclusive strategies that resonate with targeted audiences. By fostering a culture of curiosity, creativity, and shared learning, they will encourage experimentation and innovation, ensuring activations are grounded in audience insights and performance metrics.
RESPONSIBILITIES & SCOPE
- Lead the development and execution of integrated campaigns that reflect a holistic brand perspective and inspire participation across teams.
- Build campaign plans aligned with strategic goals, ensuring clarity and collaboration across teams and channels.
- Serve as a connector across functions to drive coordinated brand activations.
- Facilitate creative ideation and strategic planning sessions.
- Collaborate with teams to apply learnings and audience insights to future strategies.
- Partner with media planning agencies and internal teams to ensure effective execution across all channels.
- Cultivate strong relationships, fostering alignment and shared ownership of campaign success.
- Identify and implement systems-level improvements to enhance workflow and campaign delivery.
- Develop creative briefs and learning agendas to guide campaign ideation, testing, and optimization. Operate with strategic influence, requiring buy-in and collaboration across teams and leadership.
- Occasional travel is required for business meetings and events, trainings, and/or team retreats and meetings.
- May supervise one or more professional staff
- Other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field and a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience managing staff and teams.
- Experience developing marketing plans and measuring results.
- Experience cultivating and managing client relationships.
- Experience leading complex project and program/account management including financial responsibilities, and measuring results of strategic plans and programs.

Salary Information:
The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position is generally within the range of $99,705- $143,000. This range only applies to candidates whose country of employment is the USA. Where a successful candidate’s actual pay will fall within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including, for example, the candidate's location, qualifications, specific skills, and experience. Please note countries outside the USA would have a different pay range in the local currency based on the local labor market, and not tied to USA pay or ranges. Your geographic location will be confirmed during the recruitment.
