Compensation: $120,000 – $140,000 per year + Performance Bonus
Travel: Up to 10%
A well-established, growth-focused manufacturing organization in the Plymouth, Michigan area is seeking an experienced Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager to lead plant-wide safety, environmental compliance, and sustainability initiatives.
This strategic leadership role is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive Environmental, Health & Safety strategy that ensures regulatory compliance, strengthens workplace safety culture, and drives continuous improvement in a lean manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate will be a hands-on safety leader with strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, ISO-14001, and ISO-45001 standards.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and enforce Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) policies and procedures in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Lead and maintain ISO-14001 and ISO-45001 certification initiatives.
Conduct risk assessments, job hazard analyses (JHA), and environmental impact evaluations.
Perform routine safety audits, compliance reviews, and facility inspections.
Ensure full compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
Oversee environmental programs including waste management, pollution prevention, and sustainability efforts.
Investigate incidents and near-misses, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
Design and deliver safety training programs and emergency response procedures.
Maintain accurate compliance documentation and reporting systems.
Partner with operations and leadership teams to embed safety into lean manufacturing processes.
Promote a proactive safety culture focused on zero incidents and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of EHS experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Demonstrated experience in lean manufacturing settings.
Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and environmental compliance standards.
Experience managing ISO-14001 and ISO-45001 systems.
Proven ability to conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses.
