Summary
This is a temporary position not to exceed 1039 hours. This is an excepted service appointment that does not confer competitive status. The typical season for this position is May through September but can be variable during these months due to weather conditions, project needs, or funding. The anticipated entry on duty is May 2026.
Major Duties
Duties of the position include but are not limited to the following: Educate the public about the park's resources and history through visitor engagement. Support the cultural resources team with historical research and report writing. Assist the park in monitoring of historic structures and park resources. Aid the park in public programming related to historical topics. Offer services with museum and exhibit projects related to historical topics. Additional clarification/duties for the GS-07 level: Collect field data contributing to the basic cultural resources and inventory to assess status and trends of resources conditions. Identify historical and/or cultural objects or sites, measuring abundance or historical condition, etc., using technical instruments, manuals, protocols, and knowledge of cultural resources.
