Summary
The primary purpose of this position is to work under a grade 10 or higher journey-level position to assist in the maintenance, repair, alteration, and construction of masonry structures and surfaces made of stone. As a member of Keweenaw National Historical Park's facility management/maintenance program, the incumbent is required to adhere to all applicable masonry requirements and standards.
Major Duties
Major Duties may include but are not limited to the following: Assists in the maintenance, repair, and restoration of structures and surfaces constructed of stone, the preparation of test mixes, and prepares mortars according to specifications. Removes damaged portions of walls, partitions, or other similar structures in preparation for repair. Caps, resets, respalls, grouts, and reinforces walls so that the repaired portion closely matches the original, undamaged portions of the structure. Work is documented under the direction of a higher-graded employee. Loads and unloads cement, soil, stone, tools and equipment, and stacks and handles stone building materials and supplies. Keweenaw National Historical Park - Housing: Government housing not available.
