About the role
The Senior Environmental Specialist will lead environmental screening, assessment, planning and monitoring for the road safety civil works, including preparation and updating of site-specific environmental reports and Environmental and Social Management Plans (ESMPs), and ensuring overall compliance with Government of Bangladesh and World Bank environmental and social requirements throughout design review, construction supervision, and completion reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare site-specific environmental screening and assessment reports in line with the project and contract requirements.
Monitor contractor EMP compliance and provide supervision support for environmental performance.
Lead environmental monitoring/reporting, incident notification and completion-stage environmental documentation
About You:
Master’s degree in environmental engineering/environmental science
Preferably overall professional experience: 12 years
Preferably 8 years of experience as Environmental Specialist
Experience of preparing Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) and Environmental Management Plans (EMPs)/Environmental Management Frameworks (EMFs).
Experience in development partner financed projects like the World Bank, ADB or JICA as Environmental Specialist will be an added advantage.
