Description You'll evaluate and approve design calculations for geared and bearing components in wind turbines according to internationally accepted design standards like ISO or IEC 61400 series. The job includes evaluation of gearboxes and bearings (e.g. main, pitch and yaw gearbox/bearing) among other mechanical components within the nacelle of wind turbines.
The expert will also support the evaluation of dynamics and resonance of the drivetrain through multibody analysis.
Additionally, you will inspect customer factories to ensure proper implementation of the evaluated designs. Mechanical analysis according to international standards will be the main technical aspects of the job.
Strong documentation and communication skills are essential for this role, as the successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating with clients and a cross functional global team.
ResponsibilitiesJOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Working closely with the Segment leader and Global team, the Engineer will be responsible for Project execution, Customer management and expanding UL Renewables Certification services in China.
Key responsibilities are:
Evaluation of gears, shafts and bearings according to international standards like IEC 61400 series
Evaluation of design documentation (specifications, drawings, calculation reports etc.)
Evaluation of gearbox test results (necessary internal training will be provided)
Mechanical analysis with commercialized tools like KISSsoft
Inspection of manufacturer’s facilities to witness correct implementation of specific designs of gearbox in the manufacturing process including the gearbox test
Communication with business partners in India and abroad
Identify possibilities and techniques to improve & automate internal geared and bearing calculations processes
QualificationsMasters/Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or any equivalent field
Minimum 2-5 years of relevant experience in mechanical analysis
Experience in commercialized software KISSsoft
Experience in commercialized numerical simulation tools (example ANSYS or similar) is desirable
Hands-on experience on manufacturing processes involving steel structure fabrication and welding, are desirable
Basic understanding of vibrations, resonance phenomena and multibody simulations
Willingness to travel (within China and outside the country)
Should possess excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to efficiently manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
