Key Responsibilities:
- Install/ replace various flat roofing systems
- Conduct/ participate in Job Site Safety Meetings/ Toolbox talks
- Perform all work in accordance with Occupational Health & Safety Regulations
- Remove existing roofing shingles/ materials of all types, as well as underlay/ tar paper
- Install/ replace plywood sheeting as required
- Maintain personal and team safety on jobsites
- Conduct job site clean-up as required.
- Work with small and large roofing crews in a teamwork environment.
- Conduct and actively participate in Toolbox Talks, Hazard Assessments, Site Inspections, and Personal Protective Equipment Inspections.
- Perform all work in accordance with Occupational Health & Safety Regulations.
- Maintain personal and team safety on job sites.
- Set up scaffolding, guardrails, or other fall protection systems to provide a safe work environment.
- Must use protective equipment, devices, and clothing as required by the regulations.
- Must ensure that his/her ability to work without risk to their health or safety, or to the health or safety of any other person, is not impaired by alcohol, drugs, or other causes.
- Must report to the supervisor or employer any unsafe act or behavior.
- Any other duties as assigned.
What you bring:
- Graduation from a standard vocational or high school.
- Experience in roofing operations.
- Considerable knowledge of the tools, equipment, materials, and methods utilized in roof repair and installation.
- Considerable knowledge of the hazards and safety requirements of the trade
- Knowledge of various roofing materials and standard specifications for different roof types.
- Ability to remove and install roofs.
- Ability to erect necessary rigging.
- Ability to work at heights and on flat and inclined surfaces.
- Ability to climb ladders and set up work requirements in a safe manner.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Skill in the use of appropriate tools and equipment.
