Education Interpreter (Part Time)

The Toledo Zoo & Aquarium has been educating, inspiring, and providing enjoyment to our community for over 100 years. Our Education team is currently seeking a seasonal Education Interpreter who is passionate about learning new things and giving our guests the best possible experience.
This role is responsible for facilitating educational activities primarily within Nature’s Neighborhood and the Museum of Natural History. Activities include performing animal demonstrations, plays and skits, special events, and interpretive programming. Other tasks may include giving interpretive talks throughout the Zoo, assisting with exhibit cleaning, and operating the invertebrate touch tank in the aquarium.
This position reports to the Interpretive Program Coordinator and is non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Minimum Training & Experience
- Background and experience in animal sciences, education, environmental or natural sciences also a plus.
- First Aid/CPR certification preferred
- Must be available to work scheduled weekends and evenings as well as some holidays when needed.
- Pre-employment screening and background check are required.
