POSITION OVERVIEW
The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations within a steel production facility to ensure safety, quality, productivity, and schedule commitments are met. This role leads production teams on the floor, coordinates resources, and drives continuous improvement while maintaining compliance with all safety and operational standards.
Location: Sealy, Texas (On-Site)
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise and coordinate daily production activities across assigned shifts and lines to meet production schedules, output, and delivery targets.
- Ensure all operations are performed safely and in compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and audit standards.
- Lead, coach, and develop production employees through training, performance management, and employee engagement.
- Enforce quality standards and ensure all steel products meet customer and internal specifications.
- Investigate and resolve production issues, including equipment downtime, quality concerns, and safety incidents, in collaboration with Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, and Planning teams.
- Track and report key performance metrics, maintain accurate production and shift records, and support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, efficiency, and cost reduction.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or associate’s degree preferred.
- 3+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within steel, metals, or heavy industrial operations.
- Strong knowledge of production processes, industrial equipment, and manufacturing workflows.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, safety-critical environment.
- Solid understanding of quality systems and standard operating procedures.
- Proficiency with basic computer systems and production reporting tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience supervising operations such as rolling, melting, fabrication, coating, or finishing processes.
- Experience with lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or similar operational excellence programs.
- Working knowledge of preventive maintenance coordination and equipment troubleshooting.
