Minimum Education
High School Diploma or GED (Required)
Required Skills/Knowledge
Requires ability to follow written and oral instructions.
Must have excellent customer service skills and an ability to communicate positively with patients, families, and staff.
Ability to operate, vacuums, buffers, shampooers, auto scrubbers, scrubbers, burnishers, carpet extractors and shampoo machines, and other related cleaning equipment.
Ability to properly utilize internal communication devices such as beepers, cell phones, walkie-talkies when assigned.
Must have excellent customer service skills and an ability to communicate positively with patients, families and staff.
Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds routinely and 60 pounds occasionally; must be able to bend from waist and at knees; must be able to reach with arms over head; must be able to stand for prolonged periods.
Functional Accountabilities
Perform routine, specialized cleaning and job assignments as assigned
Perform daily routine cleaning in assigned areas following established policies and procedures; this could include specialty areas, such as, Operating Room, Cardiac Cath Lab, Recovery room, IR rooms, special procedure rooms, MRI’s, Sterile Supply , etc.
- Perform routine and restorative care to hard and carpeted floors as assigned.
Complete Daily Report
- Complete checklist and log of duties completed during shift.
Use cleaning equipment appropriately
- Clean equipment as directed.
Report to Work as Scheduled
- Follow sign in/out procedures for pagers, keys and equipment as required by procedure.
Follow Established Dress Code
- Follow department and hospital uniform procedures.
Participate in Continuing Education
- Attend mandatory annual training sessions

- Attend carefully to important details - practicing Stop, Think, Act and Review in order to self-check behavior and performance
