These positions are part of a multidisciplinary team and offer the opportunity to work collaboratively with engineers, architects, planners, regulatory agencies, and other environmental professionals on a wide range of projects. We are looking for experienced people with a background in wetlands and natural resources to join our Water Resources team in our Schaumburg and Vernon Hills, IL offices.
How you will make an impact:
The Environmental Resources Specialist I will report to the Project Manager or Senior Environmental Project Manager and assist in environmental tasks for a wide variety of engineering projects. This role is an exempt, salary position with straight overtime. We offer a hybrid work environment.
Responsibilities:

Assist in conducting wetland delineations and preparing reports.

Collect data, operate GIS applications, and prepare GIS maps and exhibits.

Assist in completing permitting documentation as necessary such as USACE, LCSMC, MWRD, etc.

Assist in the management of the MS4 program as necessary.

QualificationsEDUCATION:
EXPERIENCE AND LICENSURE:

Background in botany, ecology, or other biological sciences.

3+ years conducting wetland delineations in Illinois/Midwest.
-
Valid Driver’s License and registered insured personal vehicle.
-
Certified Arborist certification is preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Self-starting, detail-oriented individual who demonstrates curiosity about individual project processes or project subject matter and willingness to participate in various training activities.

Work in collaborative environment, completing supportive project tasks with limited oversight.

Ability to work in the field, inclement weather included.

Be open to travel throughout Illinois.

Ability to adhere to multiple assignment deadlines while communicating progress status.

Proficiency with software products:

Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Teams, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)

PDF editing software (Adobe, Bluebeam, etc.)

GIS software and Trimble GPS unit for data collection.
