Environmental Scientist / Hydrogeologist / Engineer
Location: Brisbane, QLD (flexiblehome,officeand field-basedrole)
The Opportunity:
We are seeking an early-career environmental professional to join our Queensland team and contribute to the technical delivery of environmentalsiteassessment, monitoring,complianceand remediation programs. This role is suited to someone who has developed a solid grounding in environmental fieldwork and data analysis and is now looking to broaden their technical capability and work more closely with senior practitioners on complex projects.This will involve work forclientscrossmultiple sectors, including oil and gas, chemical and heavy industry, waterresourcesand others.
The position involves a practicaland flexiblemix of field,officeand home-based work, with periodic travel to regional locations (typically medium-duration trips). While project delivery is primarily Australia-focused, there may be opportunities to support interstate or international work as your experience develops.The preferred location isBrisbane, although other locations will be considered.
Typical responsibilities:
- Support and progressively take ownership of technical tasks across environmental site assessment,monitoringand remediation projects, including:
- Planning and implementing environmental field programs, such as:
- Groundwater and surface water monitoring
- Soil sampling and field assessments
- Site inspections and compliance monitoring
- Manage,analyseand present environmental data sets, including groundwater, surfacewaterand soil data
- Undertake desktop investigations, backgroundreviewsand data compilation to support project planning and technical interpretation
- Contribute to the preparation of technical reports and project deliverables, including:
- Environmental site assessment and monitoring reports
- Work plans and sampling and analysis plans
- Health,safetyand environmental documentation
- Rehabilitation,closureand compliance reporting
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors during field activities (e.g. drilling, excavation and rehabilitation works)
- Assistwith project and task management, including scope planning,schedulingand budget tracking
As experiencedevelops, there will be increasing opportunities to lead discrete tasks, mentor junior staff, and contribute to higher-level technical interpretation and client interactions.

Qualifications for this role include:
- Bachelor’sormaster’sdegree inenvironmental science, environmental engineering, hydrogeology, soilscienceor other relevant science/engineering degree
- Approximately 3–5 years’experience inenvironmental consulting or a closely related technical role
- Demonstratedexperience in groundwater and soil samplingand environmental monitoring programs
- A developing understanding of environmental and resource regulatory frameworksandguidelines
- Data management experience(experience withR,Power BI and other database management experience is preferred, but not essential)
- Australian experience and a current ability to work in Australia (citizenship or valid visa) isrequired
- Current Australian state driving license.
