We are looking for a high caliber individual to join our Group Sustainability as Assistant Manager – Group Sustainability (Compliance). Key responsibilities include:
Responsibilities
- Support the production of the annual CLP Sustainability Report and the development of the sustainability-related disclosures in the CLP Annual Report, in compliance with relevant standards and reporting requirements
- Support the sustainability materiality assessment process for CLP Group
- Support the development of CLP responses to ESG indices and/or questionnaires, such as CDP, Dow Jones Sustainability Indices, Hang Seng Corporate Sustainability Index and others as appropriate
- Support the development of accurate and timely responses to ESG queries from the finance sector, including investors, lenders and insurers
- Support the management of greenhouse gas emission profile, covering data collection, calculations and verification processes at Group level
- Analyse ESG data and assessment results, including emerging stakeholder trends, benchmarking CLP Group's sustainability and/or operational performance against industry peers and leaders, and identifying areas for improvement for Senior Management’s consideration
- Support CLP Business Units with technical insights and expertise related to ESG disclosure
- Support the development of CLP Group responses to ESG disclosure-related public consultations
- Monitor emerging stakeholder trends and international ESG-related policies and potential local ESG-related regulations particularly in the jurisdictions where we operate
Requirements
- A relevant and recognised University degree in sustainability, business, science, engineering or environmental studies; A second and/or higher degree in a related field is preferred
- Professional qualifications and/or memberships in a field of sustainability, business, science, engineering, or environment is an advantage
- 5-8 years of experience in either sustainability, business, science, engineering, environmental areas; with at least 2 years of experience in ESG reporting and/or related fields preferred
- Knowledgeable in ESG reporting standards/ requirements, data management, benchmarking, and research
- Advanced presentation skills and ability to articulate complex technical issues
- Excellent stakeholder management and organizational skills and ability to work under pressure to deal with multiple tasks and tight deadlines
- High proficiency in written and spoken English required, knowledge of Cantonese/ Mandarin will be considered an advantage
