About the Opportunity
Renewable energy — Solar EPC and project development sector focused on utility-scale and commercial & industrial (C&I) solar projects across India. We deliver turnkey solar solutions including site assessment, engineering, procurement, and construction to private and public sector clients.
We are hiring an on-site Tender Manager to lead end-to-end bidding for large-scale solar projects, drive commercial win-rates, and protect margins through disciplined costing and contract management.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end tender lifecycle: review RfP/RfQ, define bid strategy, manage timelines, and deliver compliant submissions on schedule.
- Prepare and validate commercial bid inputs—BOQ, SOR, cost build-ups, vendor quotations, and pricing sheets to achieve target margins.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams (engineering, procurement, finance, legal) and manage third-party vendors to compile technical and commercial documents.
- Perform risk assessment and contract review for EPC agreements and PPA clauses; propose commercially viable risk mitigation and deviations.
- Drive pre-bid and client clarification meetings; negotiate commercial terms and pricing with clients and suppliers during bid stage.
- Maintain tender pipeline, bid repository, templates, and post-bid feedback loop to continuously improve win probability and bid efficiency.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
- Proven experience managing tenders for solar EPC projects (utility-scale or C&I) in India.
- Strong commercial acumen with demonstrated success in bid pricing and margin protection.
- Expertise in BOQ preparation, SOR development, and vendor rate analysis.
- Hands-on knowledge of EPC contract terms and basic PPA/RfP evaluation.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and working knowledge of MS Project or similar scheduling tools.
- Ability to work on-site and travel to project locations across India as required.
Preferred
- Project Management certification (PMP) or formal training in renewable energy project execution.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle) and e-procurement platforms.
- Familiarity with financial models for CAPEX/OPEX and LCOE calculations; exposure to FIDIC/NEC contract frameworks.
Location & Work Type
On-site role based in India. Candidates must be available for frequent site visits and client meetings.
