DescriptionIn our corporate research unit – Group Research and Development - one of our focuses is on building knowledge around the energy transition, combining understanding of entire value chains including associated emissions and technologies to reduce emissions in a safe manner.
The successful candidate will be part of the Low Carbon Technology group. The focus of this group of researchers is to build knowledge around hydrogen, CCS and synthetic fuels. This involves risk assessments, process modelling, techno-economic assessments, and sector coupling of energy systems.
As a Hydrogen researcher you get the opportunity to work with, for example:
- Modelling of hydrogen and synthetic fuel production processes
- Assurance of Electrolyser and power-to-X performance
- Engaging with clients in understanding industry needs and prototype solutions
- Building international networks externally and internally with key people in this field
- Participate in larger public-funded research projects in this field
- Collaborate with top academic personnel at relevant national and international universities
- Create and publish position papers, white papers and scientific papers

QualificationsPosition Qualifications:
- Higher education (master’s degree or higher) in relevant discipline (Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Chemical engineering, Energy engineering, Mechanical engineering, Process Engineering, or related discipline)
- Process modelling skills with experience working with both causal and acausal modeling approaches using Python, Julia, Matlab, Simulink and Modelica. Preferably with 1-5 years of experience from industry or academia. Recent graduates are also encouraged to apply.
- Digital skills, and interest in applying these skills to enhance value and efficiency of services is a strong advantage
- Knowledge of the Energy business and /or green technologies (Hydrogen, synthetic fuels, carbon capture and storage, …)
- Solution oriented, with ability both to work independently and in teams
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills in English.
