Lead Engineer on the X300 Engineering Operations Team
Job Description
Responsible for engineering operations activities that support:
- The BWRX-300 Small Modular Reactor (SMR) design team
Essential Responsibilities:
- Perform oversight activities all X300 system and component design and analysis teams.
- Manage design productivity metrics.
- Drives improvements in engineering productivity using lean tools.
- Plan / develop technical and management processes to improve both team and customer productivity.
- Liaise with customers, in partnership with engineering leadership and Project Management.
- Interface with cross-functional teams and departments necessary to complete assigned engineering operations activities.
- Improve areas of project execution and department management through lean methodology and the corrective action program.
- Support development efforts for new products and new technology.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or other relevant Engineering degree from an accredited university or college.
- Minimum of 3.5 years of experience in an Engineering role.
Desired Characteristics:
- Ability to effectively function in a dynamic design environment and manage the demands of multiple tasks and projects, while maintaining an uncompromised commitment to personal and nuclear safety principles
- Master’s degree in an engineering or technical discipline.
- Strong Data Analysis Skills
- Strong MS Excel skills including complex programming of pivot tables.
- Strong Leadership skills including ability to coach members of the management team.
- Knowledge and familiarity with the Corrective Action Program.
- Knowledge of working within a regulated environment (nuclear).
- Knowledge of quality standards and systems (e.g., NQA-1 and ISO 9000).
- Experience and/or interest in nuclear power industry.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and cope under pressure.
- Relocation to Wilmington, NC is strongly preferred.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $85,600.00 and $164,000.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
