A leading and fast-growing renewable energy company is seeking a technically strong and commercially astute Sales Proposal Design Engineer to join its dynamic team. The organisation delivers innovative and sustainable solar solutions to commercial, industrial, and utility-scale clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design grid-tied and hybrid solar PV systems for commercial and industrial applications
- Prepare detailed technical proposals aligned with client specifications
- Compile and review tender documentation, ensuring compliance with RFP requirements
- Develop and price bills of quantities (BOQs) accurately
- Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies where required
- Perform system sizing, yield analysis, and equipment selection
- Liaise with suppliers for technical specifications and pricing
- Support the sales team with technical presentations and client engagements
- Ensure that proposals meet regulatory and safety standards
Minimum Requirements:
- BEng in Electrical Engineering (essential)
- 3–5 years’ experience in solar PV system design
- Proven experience compiling and submitting tenders and BOQs
- Strong understanding of PV system components, inverters, mounting structures, and protection systems
- Proficiency in PV design software (e.g., PVSyst, Helioscope or similar)
- Knowledge of SANS regulations and grid compliance requirements
- Strong analytical, costing, and commercial acumen
