Pay Range: $67,000 - $75,000 Annual Salary (DOQ)

Job Summary:
Under direction and general supervision of the Director of Marketing & Communications, the Creative Director is responsible for the development and execution of all creative design for The Jekyll Island Authority, and all related brands and programs (Georgia Sea Turtle Center, Jekyll Island Golf Club, etc.). The Creative Director will work alongside the larger marketing team to design and execute engaging creative for advertising, collateral, and online marketing. This position will be responsible for implementing thoughtful brand strategy for the organization and its amenities, while also executing day-to-day creative work. The ideal candidate must be a team player, solid communicator, able to formulate and recognize good ideas, and comfortable operating on both a strategic and executional level.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Ensure consistent branding and design throughout all external and internal communications.
- Superior day-to-day design skills with an open and collaborative creative approach.
- Monitor trends (best practices, tools, applications, channels, design, and strategy) to continually recommend optimization and improvements.
- Design high-impact offline materials including advertising, brochures, annual reports, and more for the Authority and related brands.
- Produce high-quality online materials including banner ads, email, and web pages
- Collaborate with larger marketing team to design strategically-driven marketing campaigns across channels
- Develop effective creative that is consistent, accurate, and in compliance with established formats and protocols
- Performs work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment that requires meeting time-sensitive advertising deadlines; requires a great deal of interaction and coordination with marketing team and supported departments.
- Handles day-to-day responsibilities with minimal supervision; needs to be organized and self-directed; prioritizes and completes standard tasks within deadlines
- Supervise department graphic design and appropriate delegate tasks and manage their performance.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in visual arts, communication design, advertising, or equivalent required.
- Minimum 5 years of work experience in marketing, advertising, and branding required; agency or corporate creative services experience preferred.
- A strong understanding of brand development and multichannel marketing concepts.
- Understanding of printing process, photography, illustration, and typography.
- Experience managing marketing requests throughout a project lifecycle.
- Experience enforcing branding/identity style guide.
- Advanced knowledge of the Adobe Creative Cloud and its suite of applications.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and its suite of applications.
- Proactive thinker with ability to learn latest design techniques/trends and integrate into work.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail.
- Thrives in a collaborative, quick turn, and deadline driven environment.
- Possess a desire to tell stories in fresh, interesting, relevant ways.
- Work well in a highly collaborative environment, spanning multiple disciplines (creative, advertising, digital strategy, media, and video/photo production).
- Ability to communicate with all levels and personalities of staff, vendors, media, and community members.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
- Exert up to 35 pounds of force occasionally and a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
- More than 50% of the typical work day will be spent sitting, however, certain periods will require more than 50% of the day spent walking and standing.
- Less than 25% of the day is generally spent stooping; bending body downward and forward at the waist, and crouching; bending body downward and forward by bending leg and spine. Certain periods will require more than 25% of the day stooping and crouching.
- Must have visual clarity for both close range work such as computer use and reading and distance such as operating motor vehicles and determining the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work assigned.
- Sensory abilities required include vision, touching and feeling with more than 50% of the day spent communicating including talking and hearing.
- Required to perform work both inside and outside. Exposure to extreme heat, high humidity and occasionally adverse weather conditions as well occasional extreme cold.
- May be exposed to hazards such as moving vehicles.
- Noise levels are considered normal to loud, will be subjected to loud, above ambient noise level.
