Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled Chiller Service Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the start-up, maintenance, and repair of various chiller (water and air cooled) systems to ensure optimal performance and efficiency. This role requires a strong technical background, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety and customer satisfaction. Candidate must also posses Leadership Skills to aid in training, and tech support of fellow technicians.
Key Responsibilities:
- Start-up: Set up and commission chiller systems according to manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
- Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on chiller systems to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Repairs: Diagnose and troubleshoot issues in chiller systems, including electrical, mechanical, and refrigerant components, and implement effective repair solutions.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of service performed, including maintenance logs, repair reports, and inventory of parts used.
- Customer Service: Interact with clients to understand their needs, provide technical support, and deliver exceptional service.
- Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while working on chiller systems and ensure compliance with local codes and standards.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other technicians and support staff to enhance service delivery and improve operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in HVAC or related field preferred.
- Proven experience as a Chiller Service Technician or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of chiller operation, maintenance, and repair techniques.
- Familiarity with electrical and mechanical systems, as well as refrigerants and their handling.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites as needed.
- Possess Universal EPA Refrigerant Certifications.
- Familiar with proper handling procedures of low-pressure refrigerants.
- Basic computer skills: examples, MS Office, emails, web and app-based operation
- Possess the knowledge to accurately troubleshoot water flow issues in a fluid piping system.
- Boiler experience a plus
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs).
- Comfort working in various environments, including mechanical rooms and rooftops.
- Capability to climb ladders and work at heights as necessary.
