Position Description:
Birthday Party Hosts will assist with all needs pertaining to the execution of the Zoo Birthday Party Program as assigned by the Events Admin. This will include setup duties needed before and after events. The position will primarily involve day-of event execution to include an animal talk, facilitating age-appropriate games, and overall client interaction. The position will include some inventory management of party supplies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide energetic and upbeat guest interactions to create a celebratory atmosphere for the party.
- Complete assigned checklist of tasks to appropriately setup and breakdown party location.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance
- Maintain professional conduct at all times and consistently model the organization’s values in all interactions with colleagues, guests, and stakeholders.
- Perform daily inventory checks with routine cleaning of space. Required to immediately notify Events Admin of any existing inventory or safety related concerns.
- Follow established operating procedures for flow of event per training by Events Admin with flexibility to the specific clients needs during the event.
- Ensure on-sire upsells are appropriately charged immediately following the event.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Ability to interact professionally with both staff and visitors.
Education/ Experience:
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Uniform Requirements:
Zoo uniform issued polo or jacket with khaki or black pants. No shorts or skorts shorter than mid-thigh. Closed toed shoes are required and all other applicable handbook rules apply.
Physical Responsibilities:
Staff must frequently stand and walk for extended periods, interact with guests throughout their shift, and occasionally lift, carry, or move items up to 20–30 lbs, such as program materials, supplies, or event equipment. These roles require clear verbal communication, strong customer‑service skills, and the ability to project one’s voice during programs, tours, and presentations. Employees regularly work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions and may be exposed to noise, crowds, dust, and routine cleaning agents. Staff must safely navigate public areas, stairs, and uneven surfaces, while operating basic equipment such as radios, tablets, microphones, and point‑of‑sale systems. Positions may involve flexibility, professionalism, and adherence to safety and guest‑interaction protocols. Work Schedule:
- 2-3 days a week Friday – Sunday offered based on booked parties. Occasional schedule fluctuations dependent on the needs of the events. Daytime 8:30AM-1PM shift.
