Role Overview
Zutari is seeking a Sustainability Consultant to support the delivery of sustainability advisory and certification services across projects in the UAE, working with frameworks including Estidama, Al Sa’fat, LEED, WELL, and Barjeel. The role involves supporting sustainability strategies, assessments, and documentation, while coordinating with multidisciplinary design teams, clients, and authorities to integrate sustainability requirements into project design and delivery.
Pipeline Opportunity: This role forms part of our forward hiring plan for anticipated workload. Applications will be reviewed on an ongoing basis, and interviews/offer timing may extend over the next few months.
Responsibilities
- Support sustainability assessments and certification delivery in accordance with Estidama, Al Sa’fat, LEED, WELL, and Barjeel requirements.
- Assist in the development of project-specific sustainability strategies aligned with client and authority requirements.
- Prepare sustainability reports, trackers, submissions, and supporting documentation under senior guidance.
- Review design drawings, specifications, and technical documents to assess compliance with sustainability criteria.
- Coordinate sustainability inputs with MEP, façade, landscape, and energy modelling teams.
- Participate in sustainability workshops, design reviews, and client meetings.
- Track sustainability credits, KPIs, and supporting evidence throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support authority and certification submissions and assist in responding to review comments.
- Liaise with internal teams, clients, and sub-consultants on sustainability-related matters.
- Maintain accurate sustainability trackers, records, and correspondence.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Sustainability, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- Typically, 3–5 years of relevant sustainability experience within the built environment.
- Experience working on projects in the UAE or Middle East region.
- Working knowledge of sustainability frameworks including Estidama, Al Sa’fat, LEED, WELL, and Barjeel.
- Understanding of sustainability principles related to energy, water, materials, waste, and environmental performance.
- Strong analytical, report-writing, and presentation skills.
- Good communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work within multidisciplinary teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Professional credentials such as LEED AP, WELL AP, Estidama PQP, or progress toward accreditation are desirable.
