Job Summary
The Production Control and Shipping Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and controlling all activities related to production scheduling, material control, inventory management, and shipping and receiving. This role ensures efficient production and logistics operations by optimizing processes, maintaining accurate material flow, and supporting on time delivery to meet organizational goals and enhance overall performance. This position reports to the Plant Manager.
What you will be doing
- Promote a dedicated focus to ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures.
- Supervise production control and shipping teams, including all personnel in related roles.
- Monitor and revise production and shipping schedules based on load plans, and work with the scheduling team to meet WIP/FG targets, shipping requirements and downstream needs.
- Monitor execution of production schedules and truck loading through relevant work centers and provide reports as required to track production progress.
- Ensure daily load schedule aligns with plant production activities.
- Assist with processing customer expedites, improving new business flow.
- Monitor and maintain stock levels for key customer stock accounts.
- Coach employees for performance, development, recognition, and attendance including providing corrective action when necessary.
What will make you successful?
Required Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of five (5) years of related experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in establishing priorities and coordinating labor, materials, machines, and equipment to meet internal and external targets.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Database knowledge; AS400 or Oracle experience is a plus.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Effective communication skills.
- Strong analytical and computer skills.
- Ability to work as a team.
- Effective trainer with a focus on people development.
