DescriptionSun Solar is expanding and hiring a Solar Sales Manager to oversee residential solar sales within our district.
We are an established and recognized residential and commercial solar company with a strong presence across Missouri, Illinois, and surrounding regions. As demand for renewable energy continues to grow, we’re investing in experienced sales management to support performance, accountability, and long-term market stability.
This role is ideal for someone who understands the residential solar sales cycle and knows how to manage performance inside a commission-driven environment. If you’ve worked with redlines, commission overrides, and pipeline forecasting, you’ll feel right at home here.
At the same time, we recognize that strong managers often come from related high-performance industries. If you’ve successfully led teams in roofing, HVAC, home improvement, construction sales, or other outside sales environments and are ready to transition into solar, we welcome your application.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
You will oversee a team of Energy Consultants and manage district performance from both a revenue and operational standpoint. This includes:
- Driving weekly and monthly revenue targets
- Monitoring KPIs such as close rates, sit rates, and pipeline activity
- Managing commission overrides and overall team production
- Recruiting, onboarding, and developing sales consultants
- Conducting ride-alongs and performance coaching
- Coordinating with Operations and other aligned departments to ensure smooth project flow
Compensation & Benefits
We believe managers should be compensated based on the performance they drive.
- Base annual salary: $62,000
- Commission override on team production
- Performance-based bonuses
Total annual compensation varies based on team production and margin performance. Managers who build and maintain strong-performing teams typically earn between $85,000 and $120,000+ annually.

QualificationsWhat We’re Looking For
- 2+ years of experience managing a sales team
- 4+ years of outside sales experience
- Prior residential solar sales management experience strongly preferred
- Experience in commission-based sales environments
- Comfort working with metrics, forecasts, and revenue reporting
- Ability to recruit, coach, and hold a team accountable
