How you will contribute as part of the TRCA team:
The Coordinator, Community Outreach & Education is responsible for supporting the development, and coordination of assigned curriculum linked education & youth programs, including liaising with internal and external stakeholders to effectively advance TRCA’s strategic goals in Peel Region.
Major Responsibilities:
Supports the coordination and logistics for training and the delivery of education and community engagement programs and events.
Organizes the logistics, communications, and plans for the execution of training, education programs, projects and events
Delivers workshops, programs, training and/or other types of educational activities in various forms, including school and other stakeholder forums
Monitors, reports and tracks metrics related to event and program deliverables, while undertaking research into industry best practices
Meets with internal and external stakeholders as required to support the execution of education and training and community outreach programs and events
Coordinates events working in conjunction with Marketing, Communications & Events as required
Coordinates and consolidates information and data for grant proposals
Manages equipment/supply inventories and promotional and program materials, replaces, repairs or purchases equipment for programs
Incumbents may also be assigned other duties
What will you need to succeed:
Education (degree/diploma/certifications/licenses)
Post-secondary diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, Environmental Studies, Outdoor Recreation, History, Geography or a related field
Valid Standard First Aid & CPR/AED Level C Certification
Valid Ontario Class G2 driver's license
Successful completion of a Vulnerable Sector Screening. Employees/candidates under the age of eighteen (18) years are not eligible to have a VSS, therefore will not be required.
Experience
2+ years of experience providing program coordinator or administration
Experience teaching within a school, camp, or outdoor education centre
Knowledge/Skill/Ability - Competencies
Ability to engage with partners and the public and communicate effectively with tact and courtesy
Able to self-manage workload and prioritize tasks as an ongoing challenge in a frequently fluctuating workload and multiple deadlines
Proficiency in MS Office suite including online software such as MS teams and SharePoint
Strong classroom management and teaching skills within diverse environments
