Zero Zone is a manufacturer of reach-in and open refrigerated and frozen food display cases as well as the refrigeration systems that work behind the scenes to cool the cases, keeping the food fresh! We also make powerful industrial refrigeration systems for food warehousing, pharmaceuticals, and even ice rinks!
Our company is structured across 2 divisions – the Display Case Division, located in North Prairie, WI, Waukesha, WI, and Mukwonago, WI and the Refrigeration Systems Division, located in Ramsey, MN and Dyersville, IA.

What Will You Do?
Under the direction of the Director of Regulatory Compliance, the Environmental Health and Safety Engineer interfaces with site personnel, vendors, regulatory agencies, and manages all safety and environmental programs in the Systems Division. This position ensures facilities are always ready for inspection by internal personnel and regulatory agencies. This position also establishes and promotes the maintenance of a safe, accident-free, and healthy work environment.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Responsible for maintaining OSHA compliance at all facilities which includes planning, scheduling, and implementation of necessary programs and training. Development and maintenance of safety procedures, training documentation, and other related information.
- Represents facility when working with OSHA.
- Responsible for form filing and ensuring compliance with various agencies. Proper management of documents for inspections and audits. Represents facilities with various agencies.
- Responsible for creating and maintaining budgets related to safety and environmental aspects of Systems Division facilities.
- Responsible for performing daily and periodic inspections of Systems Division facilities. Will manage emergency response planning and procedures.
- Update, monitor, and integrate any necessary information regarding safety data sheets into the safety data sheet management system. Conduct periodic audits to ensure compliance with safety data sheets requirements.
- Work closely with Human Resources employees, workers compensation carriers, and property insurance carriers to meet policy requirements.
- Establish safety, health, and environmental programs/policies that are current and reflect mandates and laws.
- Schedule and facilitate monthly safety committee meetings. Document safety meetings minutes and distribute to all management personnel. Document and follow-up on any complaints.
- Establish and promote the maintenance of a safe, accident free, and healthy work environment.

Requirements for Effective Performance:
- Associates degree in the Environmental Health and Safety field
- 7+ years of relevant experience
- Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certifications preferred
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Prior experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Office suite
Skills/Abilities/Specifications:
- Understanding of fundamental and advanced safety principles
- Knowledge of Workers Compensation processes and pertinent federal, state, and local laws around workplace safety.
- Knowledgeable in OSHA and EPA requirements

- Safety toe shoes and safety glasses are required while in production areas.
- Regularly required to sit, stand, and walk throughout the office and production areas; have use of hands and fingers to use a computer, telephone, and other office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
