Your New Role
Climate change is an essential part of AustralianSuper’s ESG strategy and the Fund has made a commitment to achieve Net Zero carbon emissions by 2050 in our investment portfolio. This commitment builds on the actions AustralianSuper is currently taking to manage climate-related risks and opportunities in the Fund’s portfolio and is consistent with AustralianSuper’s objective of helping members achieve their best financial position in retirement.
As a result of the introduction of the Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards (ASRS), AustralianSuper’s mandatory reporting requirements will significantly increase in the next two years. In addition, clearly articulating AustralianSuper’s ESG strategy and ambitions in line with Australian standards is essential to bringing AustralianSuper’s ESG agenda to life for Members and other stakeholders.
The Senior Analyst, Sustainability Reporting is a newly created role in the Reporting & Control team within the Finance domain, and will support the execution of AustralianSuper’s existing and emerging ESG reporting obligations.
Key responsibilities will include;
- Building processes and controls to enable AustralianSuper to meet existing and future ESG regulatory disclosure and reporting requirements;
- Collaborating with colleagues across the Fund to gather data and contribute to the broader ESG reporting implementation project;
- Validate, consolidate, enhance and analyse ESG data for both external and internal ESG reporting;
- Providing information and insights to internal stakeholders and preparing responses to questions from external regulators related to ESG reporting; and
- Working with the Fund’s external auditor to support the audit and/or review of AustralianSuper’s ESG reporting.
What You’ll Need
- Experience in an ESG related role with exposure to ESG strategy and framework development, transition to Net Zero, ESG due diligence, and sustainability reporting.
- Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to present ideas, perspectives and issues to management.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a range of people at all levels across an organisation and external stakeholders.
- Significant experience in working under pressure, setting and manage conflicting priorities and meeting specified timeframes.
- Comfortable with change and working in a multidisciplinary team across a global organisation.
- Prior experience in translating ESG regulatory disclosure and reporting requirements and guidance into business processes and controls
- Experience in sustainable finance and reporting with exposure to financial modelling and KPI (Key performance indicators) scorecards.
- Passionate about sustainability and excited about the new challenges in ESG regulatory disclosure and reporting.
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting/ Finance/ Business and/or Engineering/ Environmental science/ Sustainability/ Governance or equivalent.
- Completion of CA/CPA, or equivalent (desired).
