Who are YOU?
You are a hydrogeologist/environmental scientist/geologist with five to ten years of experience, with a desire to support the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, state/local environmental agencies, as well as the private sector. You will be willing to work out of our Lowell, MA office, collaborating with other TechLaw scientists and project managers who are experts in risk assessment, hydrogeology, geology, chemistry, soil science, sampling and analysis, hazardous waste investigations, remediation, and public outreach.
What does your day/week look like?
- Collecting samples of various environmental media (soil, groundwater, soil vapor, etc.)
- Overseeing installation of groundwater monitoring well systems and in-situ groundwater remediation systems
- Evaluating and preparing remediation work plans, designs and reports
- Report writing and oversight of field investigation/remediation activities
- Evaluating site documentation for compliance with federal, state and local standards
QualificationsWhat do you need for this amazing opportunity?

A bachelor's degree at an accredited college in engineering, geology or a related discipline (master's degree and/or a professional registration or ability to obtain a professional registration preferred, but not required)

Over five years of experience in a variety of environmental investigation activities, such as sampling, ASTM Phase I and II environmental site assessments, and document review and document preparation—experience working on hazardous waste sites, with extensive knowledge of CERCLA, RCRA, and/or MA/NH state cleanup programs preferred.

Experience with the installation of groundwater monitoring wells systems and in-situ groundwater remediation systems—experience with groundwater modeling, developing groundwater potentiometric surface maps and preparing fundamental contaminant fate and transport documentation preferred

Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.—including loaded coolers and equipment—work long days in the field, and walk or hike through rough and uneven terrain, woodlands, thick vegetation and on slopes, while carrying supplies

Experience with routine O&M activities associated with hazardous waste sites, groundwater treatment systems, and active tank systems preferred, but not required

Good ability to multi-task, with excellent reading comprehension and writing skills and meticulous attention to detail

The ability to work independently and yet be team oriented. The ability to mentor junior staff and manage projects preferred.

At least 21 years of age, with a valid driver's license and safe driving record
