This senior role leads carbon strategy for a major infrastructure programme, driving low‑carbon innovation, PAS 2080 compliance and robust carbon accounting. Working closely with clients and project teams, it shapes strategic decisions, develops talent and supports work‑winning while advancing Mace’s Pursue a Pursue a Sustainable Worldacross the programme lifecycle.
Please Note: This role requires traveling to site 2-3 days per week in Peterborough, flexible work from home other days. Travel allowance and car allowance paid with package.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Embedding carbon in design, procurement and delivery.
- Managing whole‑life carbon and cost assessments.
- Driving innovation to cut whole‑life impacts.
- Providing strategic carbon advice to clients.
- Managing PAS 2080‑aligned carbon strategies and reporting.
- Overseeing robust programme carbon assessments.
- Supporting teams on baselines, analysis and reductions.
- Managing work‑winning, development and team mentoring.
You’ll need to have:
- Degree in environmental or sustainability discipline; postgraduate study desirable.
- Chartered environmental professional with strong carbon‑management expertise.
- Proven leadership of carbon strategy on complex infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of PAS 2080, legislation, and client engagement.
