Job Description:
Define how Fluence sells – and how our Business Development teams are set up to win. In this role you build and evolve the commercial blueprint for the business: which markets and customer segments we prioritize, how big the opportunity is, how our sales funnel currently works versushow it should work from first touch to close, and how we organize and incentivize our BD resources.
Together with the Sales Market leaders you will connect market trends, customer needs, and our own sales data into a clear sales strategy and operating model that other teams can execute against – shaping the work of territory planning, Sales Incentive Plan (SIP) design, CRM, forecasting, and enablement.It’san ideal role for a commercially minded strategist who enjoys market sizing and data analytics, and then turns the answer into simple structures, territories, incentives, and plays the field can follow.
Develop and lead the global BD operating model (roles, stages, handoffs, standard processes) and ensure consistent application across regions.
Define and continuously refine the global sales & BD strategy: priority markets, customer segments, and focus areas, based on market and internal performance insights.
Co-lead Sales Incentive Plan (SIP) design for BD and Sales with Finance and HR, including KPIs, mechanics, and effectiveness reviews.
Use data analytics to evaluate markets, market performance, BD productivity, SIP, and demand signals; run scenarios and make clear strategic recommendations.
Required Qualifications and Experience
7–10+ years in Sales, Sales Strategy/Operations, Commercial or Corporate Strategy, or similar analytical GTM roles.
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent undergraduate qualification) -Engineering, Economics, Natural Sciences, or related analytical fields preferred.
Background in energy, infrastructure, or other complex B2B solution businesses is a strong plus, especially roles involving investment cases, commercialization, or portfolio strategy.
