The Sales Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and developing the day-to-day activities of the Sales Division to include the Commercial Project Developers and Sales Engineers in support of the departmental objectives throughout the United States. This role develops, implements, and manages operational sales processes in alignment with Holt’s overall sales strategies in collaboration with customers, developers, consultants and other channel partners as well as various other departments to achieve project development pipeline and ensuring project delivery to maintain customer satisfaction.
Essential Functions:
- Hires, develops, and leads the Project Developers, and Sales Engineers.
- Models, promotes, reinforces, and rewards the consistent use of HOLT’s Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission.
- Maintains their own book of business to continue to contribute to sales efforts and establishes themselves as an enterprise account manager.
- Establishes business requirements and operational excellence for project development traversing all internal departments for alignment of project success.
- Defines and establishes sales verticals and ongoing outreach processes to develop ongoing growth in the addressable market.
- Manages sales operations budgets and maintains updated sales forecasts.
- Implements sales quotas, targets, and incentive plans for the sales team.
- Executes optimal performance while administering training of the roles and responsibilities of a Project Developer.
- Behaves as a resource when customers, sales reps or managers need further details around Holt Renewable’s sales practices.
- Functions as the subject matter expert and a resource to all departments for Sales Force and processes related to job role, including training and support to process partners, current employees, and new hires.
- Supports the customer experience, execution, and current sales campaigns in coordination with sales, and the RFP channel for public projects.
- Assists the General Manager in contract review and negotiation.
- Works safely always and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards.
- Performs other duties assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Experience with and understanding of renewable energy technologies, to include PV, BESS and EV Charging Infrastructure.
- Understanding of project development of rooftop, canopy and ground mount installations.
- Understanding of business accounting principles, preferably in a construction and energy.
- Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills.
- Advanced MS Office Suite skills including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Advanced knowledge of PVBid, Helioscope, Energy Toolbase and construction plan sets.
- Demonstrated competency to learn and master a variety of software and application programs.
- Proven customer service skills and ability to manage conflict in a caring and professional way.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with both internal and external customers.
- Time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage a complex workload.
- Ability to identify complex problems and to review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
- Ability to prepare reports, budgets, and maintain records.
- Ability to establish relationships with multiple departments and various levels of the organization.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field required.
- Minimum of eight years of work-related experience and skills relevant to position required.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- This position directs and manages the Commercial Project Developers and Sales Engineers. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; coaching and development; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Travel:
- Up to 30% travel within the United States, to include some extended overnight trips.
- Valid driver’s license.

Work Environment:
- This job is generally performed in a professional office environment, in environmentally controlled conditions.
- Occasionally works outdoors and may be exposed to weather extremes conditions that include inclement weather, heat, cold, and humidity.
- Frequently works at a fast pace with unscheduled interruptions.
- Frequently works with the General Manager, Engineering, Estimating and Construction Team, Sales Operations Team, and Marketing.
