Our client, a leading solar installation company, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to ensure the optimal performance, safety, and compliance of existing solar systems. This role involves conducting maintenance, system health checks, detection tests, and supporting installation teams, while maintaining accurate records and adhering to South African guidelines.
Minimum Requirements
- Electrician trade certification or actively completing qualification (semi-skilled candidates considered for Maintenance Assistant roles)
- Experience with solar system installations, maintenance, and fault detection
- Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems and solar PV installations
- Ability to conduct system health checks and detection tests
- Attention to detail and accurate record-keeping
- Valid driver’s license
- Good communication skills and ability to work independently or in a team
Key Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance and troubleshooting on existing solar systems to ensure optimal performance
- Conduct system health checks and detection tests to identify issues early
- Support installation teams with technical guidance and ensure adherence to installation standards
- Issue supplementary Certificates of Compliance following maintenance or solar installation work, in line with South African guidelines
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, job cards, and reports
- Ensure safety protocols are followed for personnel, clients, and equipment
- Collaborate with teams to improve processes and optimise system performance
- Provide clear communication to homeowners, installation teams, and internal stakeholders regarding maintenance activities
