About the Company:
Haulogy is on a mission to digitalize the energy sector and speed up the green energy transition while lowering energy costs for everyone. We are successfully impacting this transition today by providing energy and utility market players with a modular and scalable management software and relevant business and IT services in a long-term partnership approach.
This position is available within our New Solutions department, which focuses on creating innovative solutions that power the energy transition. We are a team of experts dedicated to building cutting-edge products that address the evolving needs of the energy market, fostering a culture of innovation, efficiency, and deep business expertise.
The Product and Team:
Our department develops and manages a portfolio of advanced software solutions designed to harvest and optimize the flexibility offered by renewable production and consumption in energy applications:
- Flex.Guard: A platform that enables electricity grid operators to dynamically manage network constraints and increase the grid's capacity to host renewable energy sources.
- Flex.Boost: An AI-based software that controls flexible energy processes (like battery storage, industrial loads, and EV charging) to optimize energy costs against volatile market prices and maximize self-consumption.
Our teams are organized into empowered, autonomous "squads". Each squad is a cross-functional unit that owns specific business domains, allowing them to develop a deep understanding of customer needs and deliver value in short, rapid iterations. You will join one of these squads as a key engineering contributor.
The Role:
We’re looking for a Software or Applied Math Engineer with a strong background in Power Systems who wants to work at the intersection of electricity networks, energy optimization, and real-world software products.
In this role, you will turn complex energy system models and algorithms into production-ready software that supports electricity grid operations and energy optimization that make a real impact on the energy transition.
Responsibilities:
As a Power System Software Engineer, you will be a key member of our development team, combining technical expertise with sound engineering practices to build software that delivers real value to users.
- Energy System Modeling: Design and implement algorithms for electricity grid management, with a strong focus on network constraints, capacity optimization, and system reliability.
- Production-Ready Code Development: Translate advanced power system concepts into software implementation that operates at scale in the field.
- Team Collaboration: Work within a cross-functional squad (engineering, product, energy experts) to deliver value in fast, iterative cycles.
Qualifications:
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- Educational Background: A Master’s degree or PhD in Applied Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field with a strong focus on IT/Software.
- Domain Knowledge: Deep understanding of electrical grid operations and optimization.
