Bilingual Program Instructor (Seasonal)

This is an hourly position, working up to 40 hours per week from April 2026 to September 2026. Holiday, evening, and weekend shifts will be periodically required.

The Opportunity
We are seeking a Bilingual Program Instructor to provide direct support to the Education Coordinators in delivering high quality, interactive and informative interpretive programs for children, families, schools, and organized groups that visit the Assiniboine Park, Zoo, and The Leaf.
Reporting to the Manager, Education & Programming, the Bilingual Program Instructor will facilitate various programming designed by the Education & Programming department in both English and French. This position will translate English programming into French, ensuring that the content remains consistent and accurate.
Required Education, Training, and Experience
- A high school diploma and/or GED equivalent.
- Post-secondary education in Cultural Studies, Education, Recreation, Environmental Sciences, Early Childhood Education, or other related field or be working towards a degree.
- Minimum two years’ experience as an instructor, tour guide, program facilitator, or working with youth.
- Experience developing and delivering effective program curriculum and lesson plans, with knowledge of different teaching methods and techniques.
- Demonstrate proficiency in reading, writing, and conversing in French and English.
- Criminal Record and Child Abuse Registry Check mandatory for this position.
- Possession of a valid Manitoba Driver’s License, or the ability to meet the travel requirements of the role.
- Current First Aid and CPR.
- Proficiency with computer programs including Microsoft Office and a demonstrated aptitude for quickly learning new software programs.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
