Under the direction of the Staff Services Manager I, Maintenance (MTCE) Admin Services and the guidance of the Classification & Hiring (C&H) Analyst the incumbent is responsible for assisting with the difficult and complex Human Resources functions for the Division of Maintenance. The incumbent is will serve as the liaison between HQ-OHR, DO-HR, Regional HR liaison, and the division. Duties include working with internal stakeholders to prepare Request for Personnel Action (PARF) documents for submittal to Budgets and the Division of Human Resources (DHR) to minimize potential delays of recruitment efforts. This position also supports the Maintenance Regional Offices and MTCE Management with less complex personnel matters and partners with the district's DHR Office on on boarding and other personnel matters.
Working Conditions
Work is conducted in a typical office setting with standard office equipment and minimal exposure to adverse environmental conditions. Adhere to ergonomic principles and workplace safety guidelines to ensure a comfortable and safe working environment.
This position works two (2) days in the office and three (3) days telework. While Caltrans supports telework, in-person attendance may be required based on operational needs. Employees are expected to be able to report to their worksite with minimal notification if an urgent need arises. The selected candidate may be required to conduct business travel on behalf of the Department or commute to the headquartered location. Business travel reimbursements considers an employee’s designated Headquarters location, primary residence, and may be subject to CalHR regulations or applicable bargaining unit contract provisions. All commute expenses to the headquartered location will be the responsibility of the selected candidate.
Special Requirements
- Possession of a valid driver’s license is required when operating a state owned or leased vehicle.
