Enlight Renewable Energy is expanding its trading and optimisation capabilities and is seeking a Trading Analyst to support the performance and commercial optimisation of its Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) portfolio across Europe. This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of energy markets, technology, and strategy, contributing directly to the development of Enlight’s in-house trading capabilities as our European storage assets come online.
Location:
Europe. While experience in the Nordic markets is essential and may naturally align with candidates based in the Nordics, candidates located elsewhere in Europe with the required experience are also encouraged to apply.
- Conduct shadow trading and performance tracking of operational BESS projects across multiple European electricity markets.
- Analyse trading outcomes versus actual market results to identify revenue optimisation opportunities and performance gaps.
- Support technical and commercial due diligence related to the evaluation of third-party optimisation platforms and potential strategic partnerships.
- Lead the development of a roadmap for establishing internal trading capabilities, including assessment of regulatory requirements, market access pathways, and operational workflows.
- Develop and maintain performance dashboards to support internal reporting, analytics, and model calibration.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams to refine trading algorithms and improve forecasting accuracy.
- Monitor regulatory developments and market design changes that impact short-term trading and optimisation strategies.
- At least 2 years of experience in energy trading, asset optimisation, or dispatch analytics, preferably within power markets or energy storage operations.
- Proven experience in the Nordic electricity markets is required, in alignment with Enlight’s Swedish BESS assets coming online.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Python, SQL, or similar analytical tools.
- Solid understanding of European electricity market dynamics, including day-ahead, intraday, and ancillary services markets.
- Experience with algorithmic trading platforms or BESS optimisation software is an advantage.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Economics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
- Strong communication and documentation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and commercial teams.
