Their mission is to license this important patent portfolio to unlicensed manufacturers of Lithium-ion batteries to both allow manufacturers to continue offering innovative licensed products on the market and ensure that the innovation of the owners of the patents is properly compensated. This highly specialized company recently began operations in Hungary, but it has an international team with a strong track record and deep expertise in the patent business.
About the Role
Our Client seeking a Business & Technology Analyst to support the in-house team by developing structured intelligence and insight across technology sectors, especially the energy storage market, with a primary focus on lithium-ion battery technologies. The role sits at the intersection of technology, market analysis, and strategic decision-making, supporting senior management in optimizing commercial and operational strategies related to patent licensing and enforcement campaigns.
This is a fast-paced, analytical role suited to someone who enjoys deep research, structured thinking, and transforming complex technology and market information into clear, actionable insight.

Key Responsibilities:
Review, structure, and help systematize existing internal research, data, and reference materials
Research, collect, and organize intelligence on battery technologies, market trends, and industry direction within relevant battery markets e.g. EV, e-Mobility, energy storage systems (ESS), consumer electrics, power tools and others.
Gather and maintain detailed profiles on selected companies, including technology focus, production volumes, revenue, partnerships, corporate structure and commercial relationships
Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to identify trends, opportunities, and risks
Develop analytical frameworks, process flows, diagrams, and business cases to support strategic decision-making
Synthesize information from multiple sources into clear written analysis and executive-ready presentations, including charts, visuals, and infographics
Build, maintain, and update short-, medium-, and long-term forecast models based on market and technology data
Present findings, analyses, and forecast models to management as support for ongoing strategic discussions
Skills & Experience:
Proven experience in business analysis, technology analysis, market research, or a similar analytical role
Strong research skills, with the ability to identify, assess, and validate data from diverse sources
Advanced analytical and quantitative capabilities; comfortable working with complex datasets and models
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex topics clearly
High attention to detail combined with strong problem-solving ability
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Education & Domain Knowledge:
Degree in science, engineering, economics, IT/computer science or related discipline (preferred)
Prior knowledge of lithium-ion batteries, EVs, or energy storage markets is beneficial but not required
